Job Readiness

There is a high number of young South Africans who are not acquainted with the working world. Job Readiness Programmes are a series of sessions that run throughout the year. They are aimed at preparing unemployed youth and graduates for job interviews and future employment opportunities.

This is done by covering workplace skills such as CV writing, interviews, office etiquette, and networking tips, etc among other valuable skills. These skills are crucial in obtaining employment. To date, the Job Readiness Programmes have had a success rate of 82%; 18 out of 22 participants finding employment after going through the programme.

We are looking for partners to help us host these programmes closer to the communities in which our beneficiaries live.

  • Cost per session:

  • Goal for 2023:

17 Sessions

  • Total cost:

Once off programme needs:

Laptops

Laptops are a great tool for the beneficiaries of Job Readiness Programmes. Most of our participants do not have access to this technology in their homes. Therefore, laptops are ideal for Sprout’s Job Readiness Facilitators, as they are able to transport them off-site to the locations where the beneficiaries are based.

Providing laptops for these sessions allows the programme’s participants to compile their CVs and send online applications while under the guidance of Sprout’s Job Readiness Facilitators. The ideal is to provide each participant with access to their own laptop to use for the day. This would require 20 laptops.

CAREER TALKS

Our career talks are aimed at high school students who do not have access to the critical support systems that guide subject selection, or to alternative educational courses that would enable them to pursue their chosen careers. Sprout strives to unlock the potential within these students through our career talks.

Each career talk has an average of 3 speakers from different vocations who present invaluable knowledge to the students on achieving success in their field.

Career talks are both presented live and recorded. These recordings are loaded onto The Sprout Foundation YouTube page; making the information more accessible to all students in need of guidance.

Applications Assistance

Sprout understands how vitally important it is to submit a comprehensive application when searching for new study and employment opportunities. Many of the youth of today lack the necessary guidance from trustworthy mentors when finding opportunities; nor do these youth have the assistance needed to compile applications that correctly and accurately represent them when applying to these opportunities.

The Sprout Foundation aims to assist learners and graduates in searching for new educational and professional opportunities, as well as to provide guidance on how to submit a comprehensive application when applying.
